We have been supporting a school project in Gambia since 2012. With our help, the Rhema Abam School in the metropolis of Serekunda received an electricity and water connection and was extensively renovated and modernized. We have also been able to win numerous sponsors in Germany who financially secure the education of many children at this school. Guests and friends of our farm have financed this Gambia school project through their donations.
In June 2020 we founded the Gambian Bridge e.V. on our Uferloos farm. The aim of the association is to support the Rhema Abam School in such a way that it is fit for the future and gives children and young people in Gambia a good education and thus good prospects in their country. We implement all of our projects with partners in Gambia.
Our current project to renovate the roof of the preschool, which was removed by a storm, has been successful thanks to the many donations. In October 2020, the children were able to move into the renovated classrooms. We are currently working on setting up a library for the school.
We are happy if the concern of our association has piqued your interest. Donations help to keep a sustainable school project alive in one of the poorest countries in Africa with 60 percent illiteracy that does not receive any government support.
